Medizinische Monatshefte Shanghai = Shanghai medical monthly.

Summary:
"Medizinische Monatshefte Shanghai" was a medical journal published monthly for German-speaking Jewish physicians living as refugees in China. Many Jewish refugees fled to Shanghai during the period of National Socialism because they could enter the free port of Shanghai without visas. By August 1939, 20,000 refugees were living in Shanghai, most of them German Jews. As explained in the "Medizinische Monatshefte's" introduction, the journal was published in German so that the physicians forced to immigrate could "feel at home by reading what is familiar to them." The journal also provided medical information on diseases and maladies common in China as well as articles on the latest medical research from other countries.
